Fear of criticism and failure

Ditto on the fear of criticism! It is stopping me from moving!

HI David,
I think I get stuck in task load. Being my own motivator, doer, self employed, my own secretary as well as my own front person so to speak. While having a full time relationship. I find I am successful in the balance to a degree, and unfortunately at times of fluster think "if I were single I could get so much more done!" Which is and isn't true, though not healthy for my vision of my relationship, which I am working on shifting.

I know I could use better time management skills, which I am great at at times, then I get bonked out and foggy with fatigue. Then I feel like I fall behind, and get a little frustrated. Then more stuff comes up that I want to put my attention to, like a job offer, so I drop what I am working towards and side step for the present job, then pick up where I left off whenever I get back to the "vision". This is what I would LOVE to have better organized control of, and find the balance with. I am trying , and am fully aware of it all... I really wish I had an assistant! Or there were 3 of me! Am I being too ambitious?!?

The obstacles for me right now fall under the umbrella of fear, of course. What that looks like is me allowing myself to get distracted, frazzled, etc., so that my commitment has been watered down. Then, out of fatigue or just general malaise, I have even decided that I don't care anymore. But that's a lie -- I DO care. That's why I'm here listening to you. My question is this: how do I build up my own strength so that I can continue to hold the vision and let it grow? I look forward to learning more from you. Thanks for doing this!

I feel like I am at the point where I know it is inevitable. Really, there is no other option. I'm certainly not going to accept my life as it is now for another 40 years. My obstacles are having a family that doesn't necessarily think in the same way. I mostly keep quiet so won't hear the objections. I'm ready to step out now.

Yeah; so Believing that my vision is possible... BELIEVE...TRUST...FAITH...this is where I am now;
My self limiting attitudes and beliefs are the only obstacles that over shadow my vision; the only obstacles that ever REALLY keep me down. and I'm ready to shine through these illusions now!

Great insight David. I often get overwhelmed with the mundain details and pressures of my circumstances and don't put as much energy into the writing I do, as I would like. And yet that is where my life could really impact the lives of others, perhaps even on a global scale. Compared to what I do now there's no comparison. I had to laugh when you said "I'm talking to you" because I'd gotten distracted by something and it looked completely sychronistic as if it were one on one (LOL). FYI, I've always had a hard time putting myself in any kind of vision what I want to create, except in a sort of egotistical way (because I feel lke I have a lot to offer that's pretty smart and original), but finding a more authentic version of that has been difficult to envision. Thank you for this series. Your timing is impeccable.

I really like the idea of having a goal bigger than my current challenges that in turn, if i stay commited to it will resolve my current issues so that i can fulfill that bigger vision. I have struggled with long term commitment often. I hope to change that trend. Thak you

I am always letting my obstacles get in the way and I find they sidetrack me and make me set different goals that I think are more attainable. It's time to live the dream and realize that obstacles are there to teach me a lesson not stop me from my goal.

thank you David. My struggle is that I have no vision for my life and I don´t get a handle on how to create one which inspires me. Can you elaborate more on this first crucial step? I know that without a vision I am doomed to follow other leaders or stay stuck in resistance to other leaders.

I've already made the shift and am unstoppable.
